Yes, they absolutely can.
Believe it or not, the Bible doesn't actually say that Christians can't be demonized - only that they shouldn't.
And the reason that they shouldn't is not because the Holy Spirit provides some sort of immunity against being demonized, but because the other believers should have used the authority delegated by Jesus to cast those demons out already.
The Bible never describes demons and fallen angels as the same type of spiritual being. Scripture also uses entirely different words for angels and demons, showing they are separate categories of spiritual beings with different natures, roles, and abilities.
Angels, even those who rebelled, retain their angelic abilities and can still appear in physical form without possessing a body -sometimes interacting with humans without being recognized.
Demons, on the other hand, always seek to inhabit human or animal bodies to exert their influence.
The Bible describes demons as evil or unclean spirits - spiritual beings that oppose God’s purposes by demonizing people.
Demons constantly seek hosts because, unlike angels, they lack the ability to manifest physically on their own.
Their main activity is to influence, torment, or control individuals from within and their nature is always depicted as malevolent (evil) and destructive.
Demons aim to disrupt every area of a person’s life—physically, mentally, and spiritually.
They work to corrupt behavior, influence destructive choices, and sow confusion, pain, and division.
Instead of the dramatic displays shown in movies, most demonic influence is subtle and persistent, leading to ongoing struggles with sin, broken relationships, unexplained illnesses, emotional turmoil, and spiritual apathy.
Demons especially seek to minimize a believer’s effectiveness for God, robbing them of joy, purpose, and eternal rewards by sabotaging their calling and testimony.
While they cannot remove salvation from someone who truly belongs to Christ, they can severely limit a believer’s spiritual growth and impact, putting them into a kind of spiritual prison where they are no longer fruitful or free.
It's simple.
If we identify that a Christian is demonized and that person wants to get rid of that demon - then we should cast the demon out.
But here's the problem - because if you never see anybody from the church casting demons out, and nobody ever takes you aside and shows you how to do it, then you'll probably come to view deliverance as being a fringe form of ministry.
This is the exact reason why Amber Ward wrote the book The Truth about Demons and How to Cast them Out - to shine a light on this very important element of discipleship and to teach you everything the church isn't currently teaching about identifying and getting rid of demons.
It's about time every single believer was equipped to do this.
Are you ready?
I'm looking for practical teaching about how to cast demons out of myself or others
